We had a great meeting last Thursday with representatives from The Glenlivet and Braeval distilleries. We are delighted that they have agreed to support us with our Heritage Lottery Fund Scotland Dark Skies project.
We will be working together to promote environmentally responsible lighting in the Tomintoul & Glenlivet Landscape Partnership area.

Our new 8″ Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope was delivered this afternoon.
We are looking forward to giving it it’s first outing at our “King of Planets” event on Saturday night.
Street lighting replacement in Tomintoul is well under way. Old sodium units are being replaced with new full cut off LED lighting and making a huge difference to the levels of light pollution and energy wastage. Over half of all the outside lighting in the Landscape Partnership area is now dark sky friendly.
